Seven Kadrievi
Biography
Seven Kadrievi is an award-winning trumpet player from North Macedonia, born in 1989 into the legendary Kadrievi musical family, known for five generations of Balkan and Roma music tradition.
He began playing trumpet at the age of seven and completed classical music education before continuing his studies with the renowned Balkan trumpet master Ali Efendi Latifov in Kočani. Through years of performing at Roma weddings, traditional celebrations, and international festivals, Seven developed a powerful and emotional trumpet style rooted in Balkan brass music.
With the Kadrievi Orchestra, he has performed across Europe and received important awards, including Second Prize at the Guča Trumpet Festival in 2010, Best Orchestra at Guča in 2012, and the Golden Trumpet Award in Macedonia in 2016.
Seven has collaborated with internationally respected artists, including Jordi Savall, Goran Bregović, Emir Kusturica, Guus Meeuwis, and Maksim Stojanac.
Today, Seven Kadrievi lives in Belgium and leads his project Seven Kadrievi Fusion, blending Turkish makams, hijaz taksims, traditional Balkan and Gypsy music, and jazz improvisation.
His unique four-valve trumpet allows him to perform quarter tones, creating a distinctive bridge between Balkan brass tradition and Eastern melodic expression.
